Higher Strength Than Mild Steel

S355JR has a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa (for thicknesses up to 16 mm), providing approximately 50% higher yield strength than S235JR. This allows engineers to reduce plate thickness or structural weight without compromising load-bearing performance.

Excellent Weldability

With a controlled carbon equivalent (CEV), S355JR is suitable for common welding processes such as MIG, MAG, TIG, and submerged arc welding. In most standard fabrication applications, no special welding procedures are required for thinner sections.
